Why we built it
Issuing identity cards is a once-a-year job that most institutions dread. The roster lives in a spreadsheet, the photographs arrive in a folder with inconsistent filenames, and somebody ends up placing images onto a template by hand, several hundred times. Mistakes are only discovered after the cards are printed, and reprinting is what actually costs money.
ID Card Generator exists to remove that manual step. You design the template once and the roster fills it. Photographs are matched to people by ID rather than by filename tidiness, duplicates and missing images are reported before anything is printed, and the batch renders in a single pass at print resolution.
How it is built
It is a web application — nothing to install, and it runs the same on a laptop, tablet or phone. Sign-in uses your Google account, so there is no separate password to manage.
- Separate workspaces. Each organisation’s roster, templates and exports are isolated from every other organisation on the platform.
- Transport security. The site is served over HTTPS, sessions use signed tokens, and the API is rate limited against brute-force sign-in attempts.
- Print-first output. Cards export at roughly 800 DPI, well above the 300 DPI print vendors typically ask for.
- One-time pricing. Plans are blocks of cards you buy once, not auto-renewing subscriptions. Payments run through Razorpay and a GST tax invoice is emailed automatically.
Who it is for
Schools and colleges issuing student cards each session; corporate offices and hospitals issuing staff badges; industrial sites issuing contractor cards as crews rotate; and event organisers producing delegate and crew passes overnight.
